International Passport Photos

Malaika Prints can take passport photos and visas for any country and know the regulations that passport visa applications require. Don’t risk your visa passport photo rejected for having the wrong dimensions or background. We can produce international passport and visa photos in any size and colour background. Our photos are biometric so we’ll make sure your passport or visa photos conform to the new internationally agreed biometric standards. You can review your passport photo to make sure you are happy with it before it is printed. If you’re not happy, we’ll take another one for you.

What are the international mandatory regulations for passport photos?

The general rule is that photo must be taken recently (usually no longer than 6 months, but depends on the country). It should clearly resemble you and be easily read by biometric machines in airports.

Good balance between overexposure and underexposure. high contrast, no shadow on the face or in the background.

HEAD

Your head must be bare, without a hat, scarf, headband or any other decorative object and your hair must be seen.

The background should be in plain colour. In Uganda, it needs to be plain white. No objects should be visible within the background.

  • Make sure the photo presents the full head from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin
  • Center the head with the frame
  • The person in the photo should have a neutral expression and be facing the camera
  • The photo must be 2x2 inches (600 x 600 pixels).
  • The height of the head (top of hair to bottom of chin) should measure 1 inch to 1 3/8 inches (25 mm - 35 mm)
  • Make sure the eye height is between 1 1/8 inches to 1 3/8 inches (28 mm – 35 mm) or from the bottom of the photo
  • Should not be more than 240kb in size

Uganda Passport Renewal

  • Step 1: Go to the Passport Portal https://www.passports.go.ug/
  • Step 2: Accept the terms and conditions displayed in the Disclaimer.
  • Step 3: Answer simple security questions
  • Step 4: Complete the passport application form
  • Step 5: Print Passport Application Payment Advice Form.
  • Step 6: Make payment for the selected type of passport using the selected payment method in the selected bank.
  • Step 7: Schedule appointment for a date of your convenience using the scheduled appointment link on the home page.
  • Step 8: Print Passport Application Appointment Form.
  • Step 9: Report to the selected passport Centre with the passport appointment form with the appropriate application requirements displayed on the website, for enrollment.

Requirements for Passport Replacement

  • a) National ID
  • b) Present your old Passport.
  • c) Recommendation letter from a Ugandan national of good understanding in society who knows your citizenship. The recommender should provide a copy of his/her National ID
  • d) In the event you are making any changes, change of profession, names due to marital status, you will be required to attach the relevant legal proof of changes.
  • e) If you have a profession or making changes in your profession, ensure that you attach a photocopy of your academic transcript or certificate
  • f) The fee is UGX 250,000, Bank Charges exclusive for replacement of your Passport
  • g) Express fee is an extra UGX 150,000, Bank Charges exclusive.
